This was my first time trying this restaurant after hearing about it on social media. And it definitely exceeded my expectations! Upon walking in I was hit with vibrant colors of beauty and culture! Although it was a little crowded the line and service was quick. The food was so delicious with rich flavors and very authentic tasting.

They decor is very colorful and interesting. We were seated very quickly and our waitress was really nice and patient. The margaritas were refreshing and tasty. The food was good. The lunch menu had a good selection.

This was our first time at this restaurant in San Antonio and it did not disappoint. We were hoping to try the bakery as well, but the portions were so big that we were stuffed! The service was quick and cheerful. We enjoyed the mariachi band play "La Bamba" at our table. The ambience was festive and so much fun! This was the best Mexican restaurant that we've ever experienced.

Hey, this place absolutely got me hooked on Tex-Mex. We have wonderful Mexican food in California but the Tex-Mex food is the stuff I have dreamed about. Queso, man that freakin' queso. We went on the Hop On, Hop Off bus tour of the city and I asked two of the drivers what the best Tex-Mex restaurant is. Both drivers were Tejano so I trusted their opinion. These guys grew up in San Antonio and talked about Mi Tierra like it was the "Mother Church." They were right! We only waited about 10 minutes. The food line was great but the bakery line/staff left a lot to be desired. Bakery staff seemed disinterested. Too bad. The chili sauce on the enchiladas is off the hook. Love the cheese. The flavor of the food is absolutely wonderful. Might not be for everyone but for me, it was killer. There is a nice bar you can wait in for the food. Gotta go to this place but, it might not be for everyone. Tex-Mex is different, way different.

We had an absolutely amazing experience for a later dinner on Easter (when almost every other place we tried was closed). As Bob Ross would say, "Happy accident." Everything else in the Mercado was closed & the walkways were dark, and the restaurant looked closed when we arrived, but no such bad luck. There was a line at the bakery counter but none for a table. We started with chips & queso. It was oddly thick - to the point I expected it to be cold, but it was not. In fact, it had a nice, rich flavor and was a pleasant surprise. My wife got the taco salad and I got the Enchiladas en Mole. Let me start by saying the portions were very substantial. Our server was gruffly charming. The taco salad came with perfectly seasoned steak and substantial veggies. The Enchiladas en Mole are a must-try. They are stuffed, absolutely STUFFED, with shredded chicken, but, of course, it's the Mole that makes this dish. Any other time, I would be complementing the perfection of their rice to no end, but that took such a backseat to this sauce. Drop, complex, and with just the right hints of sweet & spicy. I know this place gets a lot of hype and can be very very busy, yet we had an exceptional experience transcending the possible appearance of a tourist trap. We definitely got a locals-vibe.

This place has it all, breakfast, lunch or dinner, gift shop, bar and mariachi singers to sing at your table upon request . The interior is SO FESTIVE. I feel like it is Christmas with the Mexican colors of red green and white. We came for breakfast and it was delicious. We had so much fun and the food was good, so we came back for dinner. I had the Sonora dinner which was beef ribs braised in a delicious sauce. This came with guacamole, refried beans, Mexican, rice, and side of tomatoes onions. Never had this before and it was unique.
